As we move deeper into the 21st century, the American character appears to be divided into a schizophrenic Jekyll and Hyde battle. From what I can see, many of those on the right promote fear, while many on the left promote hope.
Which of the two will prevail? Fear or hope?
It is in our nature as humans to respond to fear, to worry about the unknown, to protect what we have. It also seems to be our nature to hope for a better tomorrow, to venture forth toward new horizons.
Which of the two will prevail? Hope or fear?
For much of the past decade or so fear seems to have guided the country’s leaders. If moderation in all things is a good philosophy for life, then it must be time to hope again. Hope and fear both have their place in humanity, but why must one prevail over the other?
